NEC, Aveiro University ink agreement for internationalization in education

KATHMANDU, June  30: Nepal Engineering College (NEC), a non-profit organization operating in Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur, and Aveiro University, Portugal, signed an agreement today to cooperate for the exchange of students and/or staff in the context of the Erasmus+ Program.

The two-year project focuses on the implementation of an internationalization project in higher technical education in view of the fact that exchange of experience between universities of different countries and mutual visits of teachers and students are essential for quality enhancement in education.

Prof Dr Hari Krishna Shrestha, principal of NEC, and Pro-Rector Prof Duterte Sandra Soares from Aveiro University, Portugal, signed the agreement virtually.

Under the project, teachers from Aveiro University will visit NEC and provide short-term teaching in four disciplines; similarly the faculty members from NEC will visit Aveiro University in the next phase of the project.

The cost of project implementation will be borne by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Commission under the European Union.
