Nepal's video announced best video in Interpol competition

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: A video prepared by Nepal Police has been announced the best video in the Interpol 100 Global Video Contest for Young Police Leaders Competition organised by International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL). 

Nepal was announced best in the competition organised on the first day of the 91st INTERPOL General Assembly taking place at Vienna of Austria from November 28. A total of 195 member countries of INTERPOL participated in the competition. 

A message-oriented short video titled 'Let's Save the Planet-Interpol 100' prepared by Police Inspectors of Nepal Police—Narayan Thapa and Umesh Gurung Shrestha representing Nepal was announced the best video. The video incorporated the message that the role of Interpol, the main partner of the United Nations, is crucial to resolve the potential problems due to climate change, natural disaster and artificial intelligence as well as to achieve sustainable development goals. 

According to Nepal Police Headquarters, INTERPOL President, Major General Dr Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi presented a certificate to Nepal Police. All the INTERPOL member countries were asked to participate in the video competition in order to celebrate the 100 years of establishment of the international organisation. A Nepali delegation comprising Inspector General of Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, is participating in the General Assembly.
