NEPSE adds 9.33 points; daily turnover declines to Rs 3.45 billion

KATHMANDU, March 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday increased 9.33 points to close at 2,017.03 points.

The market opened at 2,007.69 points and reached the day’s high at 2,036.3 points in the mid-way of trading hours. The market however fell to the day’s low at 1,992.92 points in the next one hour. In the last one hour, the index recovered around 25 points.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined 1.06 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 3.45 billion from Rs 4.11 billion on Tuesday.

Three groups including life insurance, banking and mutual funds were the losers. Of the 10 gainers, manufacturing and processing posted the highest gain of 54.42 points.  

Among individual companies, 175 were recorded as gainers whereas 62 were the losers.

Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited with transactions of its shares worth Rs 333.77 million led the segment. Dolti Power Company Limited was the top gainer, while Molung Hydropower Company Limited shed the highest of 9.71 points in its market price.
