Nepse gains 14.35 points but daily turnover stands at only half a billion rupees on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) increased by 14.35 points on Sunday, the last day of trading before Tihar, the festival of light.

The market that opened at 1,844.14 points took an upward trend in the first half an hour and hit 1,852.78 points. However, the market moderated to 1,848.65 points before closing at 1,858.49 points to close for the day.

The daily turnover still failed to boost up and stood at Rs 516.80 million.  Hotels and tourism slipped down 94 points. The remaining 12 trading groups posted gains in their average market prices. Non-life gained 90.09 points, the largest of all.

In individual companies, Everest Bank Limited had the largest turnover amount of Rs 51.63 million. Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited was the topmost gainer while Citizens Mutual Fund 2 lost the highest percent in its share price.
