NEPSE loses 3.24 points, while daily turnover inclines to Rs 2.36 billion

KATHMANDU, April 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday shed 3.24 points to close at 1,965.93 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,969.17 points and went through a series of fluctuations to reach the day’s high at 1,974.89 points in over two hours of trading. The index then declined successively and reached the day’s low at 1,961.54 points in the last five minutes. The market recovered around four points in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also increased 0.37 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 2.36 billion from Rs 2.53 billion on Wednesday.

Among the five gainers, finance achieved the highest gain of 62.53 points. Life insurance, non-life insurance, trading and mutual funds were also recorded as gainers. Out of eight losing groups, manufacturing and processing had its index declined by 47 points, the largest of all.

Among individual companies, 88 were recorded as gainers whereas 149 were the losers.

Pokhara Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 112.64 million. Sabaiko Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited plunged by the highest of 6.09 percent in its market value. Multipurpose Finance Company Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer.
