Nepse starts week with a fall of 10.54 points, daily turnover again goes below Rs 1 billion

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday declined by 10.54 points to close at 1,883.16 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,893.70 points. It rose to as high as 1,901.31 points before dipping to the day’s low at 1,882.09 points. Although the market recovered to reach 1,899.45 points in the successive trading, it could not last for the remaining trading period.

Along with the market index, the transaction volume also posted a dismal figure. There was trading of 2,028,348 units of shares worth Rs 774.91 million.  

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also declined by 1.83 points. Only hotels and tourism gained 15.82 points, while the remaining 12 trading groups reported losses in their market values. 

Shivam Cements, among the individual companies, had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 103.99 million. Laxmi Equity Fund gained the highest percent in its market price where as Nabil Balanced Fund-2 recorded as the biggest loser of the day.
