One dies in Jumla bus accident

JUMLA, Sept 17: One person has died and five others have sustained injuries when a bus (Na 3 Kha 7664) en route to Khalaga of Jumla from Tila Gufa municipality Nagma of Kalikot met with an accident on Tuesday. 

The deceased has been identified as Nanda Bahadur Shahi, aged 35, of Sinja rural municipality-1, Jumla. Shahi died on the spot.

According to Jumla Police Chief DSP Lal Bahadur Dhami, the parked bus moved suddenly and crashed into a nearby belly bridge. The spot is 32 kilometres away from Khalanga, headquarters of Jumla. 

Injured passengers are receiving treatment at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla. 

The driver Suraj Nepali, who is also the owner of the bus has absconded from the scene after the incident. 

Following the accident, the vehicular movement has been disrupted as the bus got stuck at the bridge.
