One dies in Tanahun jeep accident (update)

TANAHUN, Jan 10:  One person died in a jeep accident on the winding road of Baralthumki in Bhimad Municipality-5, Sunakot, Tanahun on Wednesday.

A person who was injured in the accident died. The accident involved a passenger  jeep going from Pokhara to Palpa this morning. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand said that the injured died during treatment at GP Koirala National Center for Respiratory Diseases. The identity of the deceased is yet to be revealed.

The jeep (GA 1 JA 6356) which was headed for Palpa from Pokhara fell down about 150 meters down the winding road. Consequently, 12 people including the driver in the jeep were rescued and brought to GP Koirala National Center for Respiratory Diseases. Three people have been sent to Pokhara for further treatment. The police said that the incident is being investigated.
