KATHMANDU, Oct 24: The one-month countdown to Qatar World Cup Football-2022 has officially begun. The Qatar Embassy in Kathmandu organized a greeting exchange program on the occasion of the beginning of the one-month countdown to the World Cup tournament.

In the program, a football winner was selected through a lucky draw to mark the start of the countdown. The football winners were Ramesh Vyanjankar, Priyanka Bhandari, Prakash Babu Thapa, Shailendra Bajracharya, Kajol Jha, Tulsi Shrestha, Prakash Mani Poudel, Rabi Rajkarnikar and Prajwal Wali.

Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, Yusuf Al Hail, Deputy Head of Mission Khalid Ibrahim, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nepal Saad Abu Haimed, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates Saeed Hamdan Al Naqvi, Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt Nona Ahmed, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Poudyal awarded footballs to the lucky draw winners.

The much awaited football World Cup to be hosted by Qatar is the first FIFA World Cup-2022 in the Middle East and Arab world.

The first match of the World Cup, which will begin in 28 days, will be held at the Al-Bayt Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000 spectators. Qatar and Ecuador will meet in the first match on November 20.
