KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The low-pressure line of Monsoon is closer to the northern part of Nepal. In the morning there is partial to normal rainfall in some places of Koshi province, few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the rest of the province.

There is a chance of rain in some parts of the country this afternoon. Heavy rain is also possible in some areas. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there will be partial to moderate showers across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly areas of all the provinces and few places in the remaining areas.

There will be partly to partly cloudy skies across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and few places in the rest of the provinces. Also, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in one or two places of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

As there is a possibility of heavy rain, the water level of the river will rise, floods, landslides, and erosion may occur, the department has requested to take necessary precautions to avoid inconvenience, risk or damage to public health, agriculture, daily life, road and air transport.
