KATHMANDU, Nov 1: The Patan High Court has issued an interim order to suspend the ongoing land auction process for Majhi Basti in Sindhupalchowk.

This decision was made by a single bench presided over by Judge Rameshraj Pokharel on Tuesday.

The court has directed Laxmi Sunrise Bank and Shweta Khadka's company, Shweta Shree Foundation (SSF), to appear before the court and provide a written response within 15 days.

SSF had previously made a commitment to clear the outstanding loan taken by the fishermen from the bank during the construction of Namuna Basti. However, despite this assurance, the loan remained unpaid, and as a result, the property went up for auction. In response to this situation, the fishermen filed a writ petition at the court.

Additionally, Hel Bahadur Majhi has also submitted a writ petition to the court, requesting the issuance of a certiorari order.

The court's interim order to halt the land auction aims to address the ongoing dispute and provide a fair resolution to the involved parties, ensuring justice is served.
