Mugu patient dies while waiting for Nepalgunj plane

MUGU, Jan 19: Tshering Lama, 20, of Pulu, Mugu died on Thursday at the airport of the district while waiting for the plane. 

Lama, who was suffering from abdominal pain, lost his life on the premises of Talcha Airport, Mugu, while waiting for the plane, which arrived late, according to his family members. After feeling sudden pain in the abdomen, Lama was initially taken to the district hospital for treatment. But the hospital informed told the family members that treatment was not possible in the district and advised them to take him to an well-equipped hospital.

The family members said they were planning to take him to Nepalgunj for treatment but they had to wait for the plane for several hours. “There was a perforation in his intestine, which cannot be treated here, so the family had been suggested to take him to an well-equipped hospital,” said, Nirak Sharma, the chief of the District Health Office, Mugu. 

The main roads in the district remain obstructed for the past few days due to heavy snowfall. As it was not possible for the family to take him to Nepalgunj by road, they decided to take him by plane. Chief of Talcha airport Bishal Pandey said,“Due to the dense fog in Nepalgunj, flights see delays or cancellations.”
