Humla, Dec 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' inaugurated a bridge at Hilsa in the district today. The bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 75 million. 

On the occasion, he said a team would be dispatched for generating electricity in the district and that Rs 30 million would be released for that purpose, priority would be given to the affiliated campus and the Simkot-Hilsa road for promoting tourism, budgetary allocation has been made for transporting food grains on time and the construction of the Karnali Corridor highway being done by the Nepalese Army would be expedited, in view of the demands of all the district-based political parties. 

The district-based political parties had presented a 12-point joint charter of demands to the Prime Minister before the bridge inauguration. Among the demands included in the memorandum are speeding up the Hilsa-Simkot Karnali Corridor highway, production of three megawatts power from the Hekpakhola and Dojamkhola rivers, investing in increasing agricultural production in the southern parts of the district, providing a video x-ray machine to the District Hospital, extending the services of the Teachers Service Commisison in remote Humla district and construction of a road through the Lalung-Jodang pass at Lapcha of local Limi VDC and easing the travel restrictions to Kailash Mansarovar from Humla. 

On the issue of constitution amendment, Prime Minister Dahal said the government was moving ahead to forge consensus and collaboration holding discussions with all sides while keeping in view the demands of the Tarai people.
