Police intensify search after murder evidence found inside aashram

SINDHUPALCHOK, Jan 11: Police have intensified search at Ram Bahadur Bomjom's aashrams in Sindhupalchowk and Sindhuli after finding important evidence that has shown Sanchalal Waiba was murdered inside the aashram. 

A team led by DSP Bimal Raj Kandel from Sindhupalchowk have left for Sindhuli to collect more evidences in the murder. At Badegaun's aashram, police are using trained dogs in the investigation.

"We're investigating from different angles," SSP Mukunda Marasaini, chief of District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk said. A special team from Kathmandu which came to Badegaun's aashram with six dogs two days ago have cordoned the aashram to gather evidences. 

"The special team will be in the aashram until the investigations complete," Marasaini said.

On Thursday, Mahendra Waiba, son of Sanchalal filed a complaint at Sindhupalchowk stating that his father had disappeared from the aashram itself.

The police have found fresh five feet pit with  loose soil and nine empty packets of salt. However, the Central Investigation Bureau is yet to find body or body parts. According to Mahendra, 20 packets of salt was used to quickly decompose the body.

The police have already sent the evidences -- salt's packets, soil and coals for scientific examination. Apart from Waiba, four more are missing from Bomjom's aashram. Of them, four (Fulmaya Rumba, Rangshala, Hetauda; Karma Tamang, Nuwakot, Suresh Ale Magar, Simara; Rita Bot, Sarlahi)were disappeared from Badegaun's aashram, according to the victims' families.

"We've prioritized Sanchlal's investigation at the start because it is a murder," a source said adding that Sanchalal's murder would give clues to find those that are missing.  

The team led by DSP Kandel have kept one of Bomjom's followers, Indra Bahadur Syangtang in custody for investigation at District Police Office, Sindhuli.
