KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office has arbitrarily impounded vehicles parked on private land in the Anamnagar area of Kathmandu.

On Sunday, the locals accused the KMC of high-handedness as it impounded vehicles parked on private land in the Anamnagar area of Kathmandu. The Anamnagar area has become tense after the metropolitan police impounded the two-wheelers parked on private land.

Vehicle drivers are protesting against the “excesses” of the KMC. They said that the Metropolitan  City takes one decision on a day and another the next day and has committed an atrocity on the common people.

Raju Shrestha, a commoner, objected saying that a week ago the metropolis said that they were allowed to keep one line of vehicles, but then they came back and picked up the vehicles. He also questioned why vehicles cannot be parked on private land.

Similarly, another vehicle driver expressed his anger regarding how long the general public will have to endure the atrocities of the metropolitan city. He also questioned if the metropolis can do whatever it wants to.

At the moment, there is a commotion between the general public, the Metropolitan Police and the traffic police at Singha Durbar East Gate. The common people have taken the stand that the Metropolitan City should stop the excesses on the people.
