KATHMANDU, April 12: Rainfall is expected in various parts of the country till Saturday. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather in Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly winds and local winds.

According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6AM, the weather is mainly clear in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi province.

During the afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions of the country. The MFD has indicated the possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with chances of light snowfall in a few places in the higher hilly and mountainous regions.

The weather is anticipated to remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country, including the Koshi province tonight. There is a likelihood of light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, along with the possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the higher hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

On Saturday, the weather is forecasted to be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions, including Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions. Some areas of the hilly regions in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces may witness light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Additionally, light snowfall is expected in a few places in the higher hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in select areas of the remaining high hilly and mountainous regions.

During the night, the weather will likely remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, including Sudurpaschim Province, while other regions will also experience mostly clear conditions. There is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, with the possibility of light snowfall in one or two areas of the higher hilly and mountainous regions of these provinces.
