KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that there is currently an influence of western winds in Nepal.

The officials of MFD have said that since this morning, there has been partial to moderate rain across the country and some places of Bagmati Province are experiencing light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.

There will be partial to moderate showers across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning at some hill areas of the country including Koshi and Bagmati provinces and one or two places of the Terai region. There is also a possibility of light snowfall at some places of the high hills and mountain regions of the country.

The weather will be partly cloudy in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, and the weather will be generally clear in the rest of the provinces tonight. There is a chance of light rain with thunder/lightning at one or two places in the hill areas of the country.

The officials of MFD have asked everyone to be alert as there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning in some hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Bagmati and Terai and there is a possibility of snowfall in the mountainous region.
