KATHMANDU, March 12: Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Nepal, Alexei A. Novikov, paid a courtesy call on newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha. 

According to Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Amrit Bahadur Rai, various issues of bilateral mutual interest were discussed during the meeting held at the MoFA on Tuesday.

On the occasion, DPM Shrestha asked the Russian envoy to facilitate the safe return of Nepali citizens who joined the Russian army to home, repatriate the bodies of Nepalis who lost their lives there and provide necessary compensation to the families of the deceased.

In the meeting, Ambassador Novikov congratulated and wished DPM Shrestha a successful term.
