Sarlahi’s CDO, security chiefs transferred on charge of playing cards in office

RAUTAHAT, Oct 25: Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sarlahi district, Ram Kumar Mahatao, has been transferred after a video that showed him playing cards in the office went viral on social media platforms. 

CDO Mahatao was relieved from his duties and transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA). The MoHA has sent Joint Secretary Baburam Khatiwada to replace Mahato. 

Along with CDO Mahato, Sarlahi district chiefs of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) have also been relieved from their responsibilities and recalled to the headquarters as they were seen playing cards with CDO Mahato. 

Superintendent of Police Krishna Prasad Prasai has succeeded Santosh Singh Rathore in Sarlahi district. Superintendent of Armed Police Force Bharat Khaniya has been sent to Sarlahi district to replace Ganga Ram Shrestha.
