KATHMANDU, June 14: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday issued a show cause order for not making appropriate decisions regarding the management of 'disqualified' combatants involved in the Maoist armed struggle.

A single bench of Justice Sapana Malla Pradhan issued the order against CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and party's then leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai in the same case.

The apex court also issued an order that the case be dealt with top priority.

The young combatants involved in the armed struggle led by the then CPN (Maoist) party were deemed 'disqualified' and released from the cantonments while integrating with the Nepal Army.

Lenin Bista and other ‘disqualified’ combatants had filed a case in the court expressing their reservation that the decision of the party did not contribute to their proper management.
