Snowfall likely in Koshi and Gandaki provinces today, temperature drops sharply in Terai

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of westerly winds in Nepal.

According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD this morning, the weather is generally clear in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces from this morning, while the weather is generally clear in the rest of the region, while many places in the Terai are cloudy and foggy.

The MFD said that the weather will be generally clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces this afternoon, while there is a chance of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

At night, the weather will remain clear in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the weather will be clear in the rest of the areas. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Similarly, on Friday afternoon, the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are expected to experience generally clear weather, with the chances of light snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

On Friday night , the weather will be generally clear in the hilly parts of the country, while other regions will be partly cloudy. There is a chance of light snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous areas within Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

MFD officials advise the public to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of cold temperatures resulting from potential light snowfall in specific high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the lowland areas affected by fog.
