South Korea leads Paragliding World Cup Asian Tour

POKHARA, Feb 28: South Korean pilots led the Paragliding World Cup Asian Tour in team and individual events after the third day in a cross-country task held in Pokhara on Thursday. 

Nepal’s Yukesh Gurung finished fourth in individual cross-country which resumed on Thursday after three days of bad weather. The silver medal winner in Asian Games, Gurung, collected a total of 714 points.

Korean Chikyoung Ha topped the 40-kilometer task with 750 points on first completed day of Asian Tour. He is followed be fellow country-man Jungman Choi with 744 points. Likewise, the third spot is also occupied by Korean pilot Moonsiv Lim with 736 points.

In team event for same category, Korea leads with 20 points followed by Nepal in second position with 17 points. 

Likewise, the other Nepali team Everest Nepal is on third spot with 14 points. Four pilots each represent the team events.

Nepal is hosting the paragliding world event first time in Pokhara organized by Nepal Air Sports Association. 

The tournament was severely affected by poor weather conditions in first two days.

A winner will be declared after two more days of task in Pokhara on Friday and Saturday depending on the weather.
