Sudur Paschim registers second win

DHANGADHI, June 24: Sudur Paschim Province has registered its straight second win of the ongoing Fourth Prime Minister (PM) Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament defeating Province 5 by 51 runs in Mahendranagar on Sunday. 

Sudur Paschim, who lost the toss and was invited to bat first, made 100 runs within 16.1 overs losing all its wickets. Kabita Kunwar scored the highest 43 runs off 25 balls which included eight boundaries, while Kabita Joshi hit 19 runs off 21 balls with two fours. Also, Rewati Dhami made nine, Nisha Bhatta scored eight, Manju Bogati and Laxmi Saud scored four runs each. Sima 

Nery Thapa and Alisha KC picked up three wickets each for Province 5. Both the players conceded 22 runs each bowling four overs apiece. Sima Thapa, Kritika Marasaini and Saraswati Pun pocketed a wicket each for the team. 

Province 5 could not chase the target as it was all out making 49 runs within 16 overs. Only Laxmi Chaudhary reached the double figures for the team as she scored unbeaten 12 runs. 

In a good bowling performance, Sudur Paschim captain Janaki Bhatta conceded four runs in two overs and claimed three wickets, while Kunwar picked up two wickets giving away six runs in four overs including a maiden. Sunam Bista and Laxmi Saud took two wickets each, while Kabita Joshi bagged a wicket conceding just one run in three overs with two maidens. 

Kunwar was named the player of the match. 

The second match of the day between the departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club and Gandaki Province shared a point each after the rain abandoned the game.
