Three people including DIG and journalist die in Kavre road accidents

KAVRE, Oct 27: Three people died in separate road accidents in Kavre district on Saturday afternoon. 

DIG of Nepal Police, Sushil Bhandari, station manager of Radio Gaurav, Dhulikhel Jiban Parajuli and Binod Karki died after a jeep veered 500 meters off the road at Dhakalthok of Mandan Deupur Municipality-6 in the district. Three others were injured in the accident, the police shared. Parajuli and Karki died on the spot whereas DIG Bhandari breathed his last while going under treatment. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kavre Rabiraj Khadka said that the ill-fated jeep (Ba 3 Cha 287) fell off the road along the Helambu Highway. 

According to SP Khadka Pradip Bogati, Dhanraj Puri and Binod Gautam have sustained injuries in the accident. They are receiving treatment in Dhulikhel Hospital. 

Meanwhile, a 56-year-old woman died in a separate incident after a tipper hit a motorcycle that she was riding on. Pillion rider Ranjana Gautam died after the tipper (Ba 3 Ka 643) hit the motorcycle from the same direction at Piple bazaar in Panchkhal Municipality-6 at around 4 this afternoon.
