Two held with leopard skin

CHITWAN, Aug 2: Two persons have been arrested in possession of leopard skins in Makawanpur district.

A joint team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and District Police Office had arrested them from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-25, Dobhanchaur on Sunday. The arrested are Sonam Thing, 42, and Nema Dorje, 48, of Gadhi VDC-2.

Police recovered about four kilograms leopard bones and 7-foot long leopard skin from them.
They were arrested on the basis of a tip-off, according to the police.

They have been sent to the District Forest Office (DFO) for further investigation, according to DSP Bamdev Gautam. They will be charged under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 1973, police said.
