'Govt is committed to making prosperous and developed Nepal within a decade'

KATHMANDU, May 21: The government has expressed commitment to make the country prosperous and developed nation within a decade. 

Presenting the government policies and programs of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 at the parliament, President Bidya Devi Bhandari expressed the commitment of the government to make the prosperous and developed nation. 

The nation of Gautam Buddha and Sagarmatha will be identified as a developed nation at the international level, reads policies and programs. 

The government stated that it will not accept any types of terrorism and corruption. The government in its policies and programs stated that it will achieve goals of 'Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali'. 

  • To identify developed nation within 10 years
  • Increase economic income rate in double-digit within five years
  • Produce 5000 megawatts electricity in five years and 15000 megawatts in 10 years
  • Removed all kinds of syndicate and cartel
  • Rebuild national heritage sites within three years
  • Establish information gateway at all local levels
  • The international levels stadium will be made

The government will increase the economic income rate in double-digit within five years, mentioned in the speech.

The main cities will be developed as Greenery city of the nation. The government has focused on the cottage, small and big hydropower project. The government will produce 5000 megawatts electricity in five years and 15000 megawatts in 15 years. 

The cement industry will be promoted as to export-oriented industry and the national production will make a competitive industry. The syndicate and cartel of every sector will be removed from the nation. 

The government has included reconstructing heritage sites, Dharahara, Ranipokhari, and Kastamandap in its policies and programs which had destroyed during the massive earthquake of 2015. The policies and programs read to establish information gateway at all local levels. 

President Bhandari on Monday presented the policies and programs for an upcoming fiscal year at a joint session of Federal Parliament and National Assembly for the first time after the promulgation of the constitution.
