Youth injured after being shot at by Bara police dies during treatment

BARA, Dec 13: A youth, who was injured after being shot at by police in Bara, has died.

Police had opened fire to contain the mob as the agitating municipality employees, who demanded a hike in their salary and other perks and facilities, gathered at the municipal office and engaged in clashes on Wednesday. 

Expressing dissatisfaction over alleged lack of attention to their problems by Mayor Kishori Prasad Kalwar, the agitating employees, along with the new Chief Administrative Officer Mahesh Mishra, had reached the municipal office to discuss their demands. Police said they had to open fire to control the clashes between two parties 

According to District Police Chief SP Suresh Kafle, one Laxmi Mukhiya aged around 25 was injured due to police firing. He died in the course of treatment at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.
