REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepal dropped six notches in the FIFA Rankings to 155th position and also lost the top position in South Asia.

Bangladesh, ranked 151st according to the latest rankings released by FIFA on Wednesday, moved on top among the eight South Asian nations.

Afghanistan in 162nd position in the world ranking is third in South Asia, followed by India (163), the Maldives (164), Pakistan (178), Sri Lanka (181) and Bhutan (205).

Nepal´s new ranking is the worst in the last 14 months. Nepal had climbed to 150th position, a remarkable rise of 22 places, in April last year and had held the top position in South Asia since the following August.
