REPUBLICA

SURKHET, July 23: Rice transplanting is 48 percent complete by now in the Midwestern Development Region. Compared to other regions, monsoon arrived late here.

“Though the districts having proper irrigation facilities are reporting rapid progress in transplanting, some monsoon dependent districts in the region are seeing slow progress,” said Acharya releasing a fresh report on rice transplanting, on Sunday.

Officials have predicted that rice production will reduce y around 30 percent if there is less rainfall in the coming days.
