  EXTRACTS Personal freedom matters
  BY BINITA BARAL

I came across this quote while I was going through blogs about Paulo Coelho and doing a little background research on him. I had just started reading ‘The Alchemist’ back then and I was very inspired by Coelho’s writing and storytelling abilities. I believe this quote is really close to me as I can easily relate to it.

We live in a very conservative society where everyone is nosy about other people’s businesses. I find people in our society living with really narrow and congested viewpoints and ideologies. There is hardly any personal freedom, and one has to constantly be conscious about what others may say about him or her. More than that, I think people in our society are busier trying to find out what others are doing rather than taking care of their own issues.
