  The Most Vivacious Girl For Fanta Miss Bubbly 2014

    KATHMANDU, April 23: Miss Nepal participants this year will also be vying for the title of Fanta Miss Bubbly 2014. The participants now need to explore their cheerful and vivacious nature as Fanta consumers will be voting for the most fun contestant in the pageant.

The lucky winner will be awarded the title in the grand finale along with the top three winners of Fanta Miss Nepal 2014. Five of the lucky consumers, who vote for Fanta Miss Bubbly, will be known as Fanta’s Fun Ambassadors and will get free passes for the grand finale on May 2.

 
  Winning Radio Play To Be Aired On Hits FM

    KATHMANDU, April 23: ‘Girl in the Mirror’, which won the award for the best play in the Radio Play Writing Competition by British Council Nepal, has been launched in Nepali and English editions to be aired on Hits FM (91.2 MHz). While the Nepali version will be aired on April 26 at 3 PM, the English version is to be aired on the next day, April 27, at 1 PM.

The psychological radio play written by Sharmily Rana tells the story of Gita who suffers from split personality disorder. It follows her family’s struggle to help cure her of this problem. Directed by Khagendra Lamichhane, the play is about an hour long.

 
  Schwab Award For Ruit

    KATHMANDU, April 22: Holder of the Ramon Magsaysay Award and Thailand’s Prince Mahidol Award, Dr Sanduk Ruit was awarded the Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 Award in March 2014.

He was honored at a felicitation event organized by The Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub, an initiative of World Economic Forum, at Hotel de L´ Annapurna, Durbar Marg on Monday.
Dr Ruit helped found the Tilganga Eye Centre in 1994, which provides waived surgery fees to the needy. He is the first Nepali doctor to perform cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants. He is also the pioneer of a method for delivering high-quality microsurgical procedures at remote eye camps.

 
  Taking Nepal's Fashion Industry To The Next Level

    KATHMANDU, April 21: The designers are ready with their collection, the models have rehearsed their walk, and the stage is all set for the much acclaimed fashion extravaganza – TGIF Nepal Fashion Week. The sixth edition of the fashion festival will be held at Hyatt Regency, Taragaon, from April 23 to April 26.

“There are many talented designers and models in Nepal. And this fashion week aims to promote the already successful professional models and designers as well as provide platform for the upcoming ones to showcase what they’ve got,” shared Shailaja Adhikary, Founder and Managing Director of IEC College of Art & Fashion, at a press meet held at Hyatt Regency on Monday.

 
  Bento-Japanese Lunch Box Service Introduced

    KATHMANDU, April 21:For the lovers of Japanese food, here’s good news.

 The Japanese Cuisine Restaurant, Tamura, of Hotel Kido in Thapathali, has introduced ‘Bento’ – lunchbox service, with the option of eight different Japanese dishes in a disposable package for home delivery.
