DHANKUTA, Oct 6: Head of the District Health Office, Dhankuta Dr Mahesh Khanal has conceded that Gajendra Man Rai of Annapurna Village Development Committee (VDC), Bhojpur had died due to negligence of doctors.
“I had made all the arrangements for Dashain before going for my holidays. But things did not go the way I had arranged,” Dr Khanal said. Khanal has also expressed commitment to punish the guilty after inquiry.
Jaundice patient Rai had died of hunger 22 hours after being admitted to the district hospital on the day of Bijaya Dashami on September 22.

Dr. Khanal is really great for accepting the negligence on part of the hospital. But to be true he is trying to be "Pani Mathiko Obhano" by accusing juniors and making them the scapegoat which is the most derogatory action on his part. If he´s really responsible DHO just ask any staff of the hospital how many days has he sat in the OPD or gone for indoor rounds in last one year. Then everything will be clear.
