CHIDIPANI (PALPA), Oct 7: Six persons were killed and 47 injured in a bus accident in Palpa on Wednesday afternoon. Four persons died on the spot and two died while being taken to Tansen for treatment. Twelve of the injured are reportedly critical.
The accident occurred when the bus (Lu 1 Kha 5271) heading to Rampur of Palpa from Butwal skidded off the slippery road and fell about 100 meters down at Satdobate in Chidipani VDC at 1:30 p.m.
According to a source at Palpa Mission Hospital, among the deceased are 29-year-old Tribhuvan Thapa of Baugha Pokharathok, Palpa; Dev Bahadur BK of Fokingkot, Palpa; and 11-year-old Narayan Gharti of Siddharthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi. The rest were yet to be identified till Wednesday evening, the police said.
The injured are being treated at the Mission Hospital and at Lumbini Medical College.
