DHARAN, Oct 10: Despite intensive search, the police have not been able to locate two of the four men accused of raping a child three weeks back. The case involved Suresh Kumar Sah, a police constable, who has already been arrested, along with Dipesh Karki of Dharan-17. However, Mohammad Nur Musalman and Pradip Sah from Lahan, Siraha are still absconding.
Written the Siraha police has already been informed about the two police there have failed to locate Sah and Musalman, according to the Area Police Office (APO) Dharan.
On September 14, the four had kidnapped a 14 years old girl of Dharan-16 and taken her to Patnali forest in Bishnupaduka-4, and raped her. At that time, police constable Sah was employed at a temporary police post in Dharan-17. As soon as the locals learnt about the incident they caught Sah and Karki and handed them over to the police, but the other two managed to escape.
Sah and Karki, who are in police custody, are being held at the District Police Office in Inaruwa, Sunsari. According to, APO Dharan chief and police inspector Awadesh Bista, Sah has been suspended from his post. The duo will be presented before the district court on Monday. A warrant for the arrest of the other two will be issued by the court on the same day, said Bista.
The guardian of the victim filed a formal complaint three days after the incident. The victim is currently in Biratnagar for psychiatric counseling.
