BUTWAL, Oct 12: Two central committee members of UCPN (Maoist) and 10 other Maoists were injured in a clash with police after the Maoists pelted stones at the vehicle carrying Minister for Irrigation, Bal Krishna Khand, on Monday.
Police baton charged Maoist cadres after the latter threw stones toward Khand, who arrived here to inaugurate a field office of the Department of Water-Induced Disaster Prevention.
Those injured are Maoist central committee members Bhakti Pandey and Hakimullah Khan. Pandey received injuries to the head and Khan was injured in the leg. Other Maoist cadres injured are Utsav Neupane, Prem Ghising, Ramu Aryal, Yogendra Gautam, Om Prakash Poudel, Yagya Prakash Poudel, Kamal Poudel and Jyoti Lal BK, according to Rupandehi district chapter of the UCPN (Maoist) party.
