SURKHET, Oct 13: Acting President of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala on Tuesday expressed displeasure at the appointment of Sujata Koirala as the deputy prime minister without the party´s official approval.
“We will discuss the issue in the party,” Koirala said. He, however, said that it was the prime minister´s prerogative to appoint a deputy prime minister. “Please wait for the impact of this issue,” said Koirala, who was accompanying the prime minister during the visit of the flood-affected areas in the mid-west and far-west regions.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said that her appointment as deputy prime minister wouldn´t affect the stability of the government.
Meanwhile, the NC has called its central working committee meeting on Wednesday.
