PARSA, Oct 14: Two local businessmen were seriously injured in a series of shooting incidents that took place in Birgunj on Tuesday night.
The businessmen injured in separate shooting incidents are Raju Prasad Gupta and Manoj Harlalka (Agrawal).
The latest shootings come barely two days after businessman Binod Kumar Agrawal was shot dead by unidentified assailants. The first incident took place at about 9:15 pm at Maisthan in which Gupta was seriously injured and the next shooting incident occurred in front of Suraj Hotel at Adarshanagar half an hour after the first incident.
The two businessmen were rushed to the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital for treatment. They have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Both Gupta and Harlalka are cloth merchants. Agrawal, who was shot dead two days back, also happens to be a cloth merchant.
The recurrence of shootings when the police have not been able to make any arrests so far in connection with the killing of a businessman two days back has exposed the weak security in the district.
