  Five killed in accidents

CHITWAN, Oct 16: Two people were killed in a road accident in east Chitwan Thursday night while three more were killed in Nawalparasi and Jhapa on Friday.

Twenty-six years old Binod Glon and Madan Glon of Raksirang VDC, Makwanpur district who were traveling on a motorcycle were seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a microbus from behind.

They died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College, police said.

The accident took place while they were going towards Lothar from Narayangadh.

Meanwhile, a woman died on the spot and two others were seriously injured when a vehicle hit them on the East-West Highway near Arunkhola, Nawalparasi district Friday morning.

The woman is identified as Jyoti Shahi of Naya Belhani. Saraswati Malla and Poonam Lama of the same place have been seriously injured after the vehicle knocked them down while they were on morning walk, police said.

In Jhapa, two people died in separate accidents.

Twenty-one years old Indra Bahadur Adhikai of Khudunabari died after falling from a tree. He died on the way to hospital, police said.

Bhanu Limbu, a resident of Mechinagar-8 who was traveling on a motorcycle died in an accident on Butabari section of the East-West Highway. Limbu died while undergoing treatment sat a hospital in Siligudi, India, according to police.
