KATHMANDU, Oct 17: A new book, Nagarik Shastra, of late Mahakabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota was released Saturday. The book was published by Ratna Library, Kathmandu.
At the function, litterateur Dwarika Nath Upadhyay said research has proved that Mahakabi Devkota had written this book in 2008 BS aimed at providing civic education.
Editor of the book, Parthamani Bhattarai, termed it as a ´Collection of Great Essays´. The 150-page book has covered political and literary issues in most reader-friendly language.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly, Parliamentary System and Culture Minendra Rijal said more researches and studies are necessary on Devkota´s literary creations.
During the program, prizes and certificates were also awarded to the winners of the poetry seminar. Tulasa Pathak (Jhapa), Saurab Subedi (Bhojpur) and Bhab Keshar Baral (Sindhuli) were judged first, second and third winners respectively.
Chairman of the library, Shyam Prasad Aryal, littérateurs duo Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire and Dr Kul Prasad Koirala applauded Devkota´s literary works.
