GAUR, Oct 23: Five cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist) and four police personnel were injured in a clash ensued between the police and Maoist cadres in Gaur Friday morning.
Police assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Yadav, constable Yogendra Shah, policemen Jilani Hussein and Rajib Pandey were injured in the clash, said the District Police Office, Rautahat.
Likewise, on Maoists side Bhojpura State Committee member Chandreshwor Raut, his son Sonu Raut, Santosh Kumar Raut, Lal Babu Paswan and Bikram Kumar Yadav were injured, said Bipin Jaisawal, Regional In charge of the UCPN (Maoist).
Police constable Yogendra Shah and Maoist cadre Chandreshwor Raut were injured seriously. Injured Shah is undergoing treatment at the district hospital whereas Raut has been kept under police custody. Similarly, police have arrested five Maoist cadres on the charge of attacking the police personnel.
During the clash, three cell phones of police personnel have lost, informed police office. After the incident, the situation in Gaur is tensed now.
