Maoists trying to capture power with terror: Deuba

RSS

CHITWAN, Oct 28: Former Prime Minister and leader of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday alleged the Unified CPN (Maoist) for trying to capture the state power with threat and terror.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union, Chitwan, Deuba said Maoist´s intention to capture the state power would not be fulfilled.

Saying the Unified CPN-M was trying to keep the country in the hostage; Deuba added UCPN-M was doing wrong by disrupting the regular business of the House and hindering the process of passing the budget. He urged the Maoists for consensual politics and said Nepali Congress was flexible for agreement.

Former Prime Minister Debua clarified that the decision to reinstate the then Chief of Army Staff was not the president´s design rather that was the collective decision of the 18 political parties representing the Constituent Assembly.

Referring yesterday´s attack on him, he said Maoists were not corrected yet. He criticized the administration of being helpless while the Maoists were carrying weapons publicly.

Meanwhile, Nepal Students’ Union affiliated with the Nepali Congress halted all academic activities in all campuses in Birgunj to protest the Maoist attack on Deuba, Irrigation Minister Bal Krishna Khand and NC youth leader Gagan Thapa in Narayangarh on Tuesday.

Similarly, Deuba speaking in Tanahun warned the Maoists that the Nepali Congress will retaliate against the Maoist excesses including their attacks on NC leaders and cadres.

Speaking at après meet organized by Nepal Press Union, Tanahun, on his way to Parvat from Chitwan, Deuba said the Maoists have crossed the limit of irresponsibility by blocking the budget from passing from the parliament.
