BARA, Oct 29: The Bara District Administration Office has imposed an indefinite curfew from 11 a.m. Thursday in Kachorwa area.
The office said the curfew orders will be effective in areas up to the borders with Rautahat in the east, Basbariya in the west and India in the south.
The curfew was imposed after clashes between the locals and supporter of Bijay Yadav, a contractor whom the VDC had awarded the contract to catch fish in Nepal’s one of the biggest artificial pond in Kachorwa-9.
Locals alleged the VDC secretary of secretly awarding the contract to Yadav. The clash ensued after the contractors barred the locals from fishing in the pond.
In clashes yesterday, nine persons including the police were injured. After the situation became tense over the issue today as well, the district administration office imposed the curfew.
