ACHHAM, Oct 31: More than 300 CDMA phones disrupted since Dashain are still out of service in Achham district.
Unavailability of network service has led to automatic switch-off of around 350 CDMA phones kept for personal and commercial purpose at about 60 houses.
Following the disruption of phone service, 64 VDCs, excluding the areas adjoining the district headquarters, have been deprived of telecommunication facility.
Villagers say the prolonged phone disruption has affectedly them badly.
"Since Dashain I am out of contact with my relatives living outside the district," said Rame Jaise, a local of Barala-3. He said they have to visit a far-flung VDC to make emergency phone calls.
With the CDMA phone service going haywire, the wireless phone, which was popular among villagers in the district, has lost its reputation.
When asked what they are doing to bring the phone service back in service, chief of Nepal Telecom, Achham branch, Dambar Bohara said the 350 CDMA phones will provide service within few weeks.
