ILAM, Oct 31: A three-day festival is being organized in Kanyam, a popular tourist spot, in the second week of November with the objective of promoting local tea.
Kanyam Festival Committee and Nepal Indigenous Nationalities are jointly organizing the festival from November 7 to 9. The festival would be organized with the slogan of “Let´s Go Kanyam, Drink Organic Tea.”
Organizers said, the festival would feature cultural processions from different communities including indigenous nationalities and cultural show staged by national level artists.
During the festivals, the visitors will be provided with the opportunities of sightseeing tea garden, observation of sunrise, sunset and scenic view of Kanchanjangha Himal as well as visit of Darjeeling and eastern Tarai. The visitors will also get opportunity to experience the culture and lifestyle of Lepcha - an indigenous community.
