MAHENDRANAGAR, Nov 1: Police on Sunday arrested an Indian policeman in posession of firearm from Mahendranagar bazaar in Kanchanpur.
Ramtej Singh, an Indian police constable, was arrested with an SMG. Singh is the bodyguard of Surendra Singh, the chief district officer of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh state of India.
A team of Indians including CDO Singh had arrived for a meeting in Banbasa across the border. They had entered Nepal through the Gaddachauki checkpoint.
They were eating at Shivani Sweet Bhandar in Mahendranagar when locals saw constable Singh with gun and informed the police and mediapersons.
Police have handed over the team of Indians along with the bodyguard and their vehicle to the district administration.
