KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Morang Auto Works (MAW), the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles for Nepal, has awarded the 3rd Alba Ratna to Usha Acharya of Lazimpat. The award is a year-long campaign by MAW to felicitate and encourage heroes of the society.
Acharya was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a trophy and certificate. “Acharya mainly focuses in educating the poor and dedicated children with the initiation from her inner heart compelling other sectors to help her in this activity,” MAW said in a statement.
The award is named after Yamaha Alba, a 106 cc bike, which MAW claims to be the most economic bike in the segment.
Acharya was nominated by Nikita Devkota of Kalopul.
The winner of the awards, handed over each month, is chosen by a selection committee from Nepal Magazine, MAW said.
