Indian Railways to cancel hiked transport charge

RSS

PARSA, Nov 7: Indian Railways, the state-owned railway company of India, has decided to cancel the hiked transport charge on goods imported by Nepali businessmen.

A decision to this effect has been reached between officials of Birgunj Chambers of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) representatives of Indian Railways.

The Indian railway company had increased per hour transport charge by six times from INr 100-600. Nepali importers were badly affected by the move and have been protesting the massive hike.

BCCI President Om Prakash Sikariya said the Indian Railways has agreed to fix the initial charge -- Indian rupees 100.
