INARUWA, Sunsari, Nov 7: Some 375 schools remained closed in Sunsari district on Friday when temporary teachers called for school closure demanding their permanency. The school closure affected the study of 107,395 students in the district.
Nepal Temporary Teachers´ Union and Union-affiliated teachers have been demanding implementation of the past agreement to make temporary teachers automatically permanent after necessary process.
The government ignores their demand so they are forced to protest calling for school closure, said a teacher Shyam Prasad Sah.
The teachers closed the schools in the district and also picketed Sunsari District Education Office on Friday.
