KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The senior boys´ teams of Kathmandu Xavier, Golden Peak and Greenland entered the quarterfinals of the Fourth Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Championship on Tuesday.


Kathmandu Xavier defeated the hosts Valley Public ´B´ 50-39 while Golden Peak thrashed Gyan Mandir 60-12. Likewise, Greenland also thrashed Elam Kids 30-5.

Meanwhile, Nightingale and Gaurishankar also registered victories for their teams. Nightingale defeated Bhanubhakta Memorial 31-15 and Gaurishankar won over Awareness Int´l 42-16.

In the senior girls´ section, Clinton Public defeated Ganesh High School 14-10.


Mountain biking club formed

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: In a bid to introduce a new adventure sports in Nepal, Craft Art Studio Mountain Bike Club has been established in association with EPIC Mountain Bike Adventure on Tuesday.

The club will organize national and international tournaments and provide an environment that would boost up confidence among the enthusiasts in the most splendid location of the world.

“We are here to explore the tourism of Nepal through mountain biking in a form of adventure tourism,” stated a press release of the club.


Odyssey, Panchayan victorious

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The boys´ teams of Odyssey Int´l Academy and Panchayan won on Tuesday during the Second Odyssey Inter-school Junior Boys´ and Girls´ Basketball Championship being held at Odyssey´s premise, Dhapasi.

Odyssey defeated Mount Glory 31-13 while Panchayan defeated Jagat Mandir 29-14. In other matches of the day, NIMS, Unique and New Shrine registered win over Manjugoksa 48-40, Sky lark 25-16 and Midland 49-1 respectively.

In the girls´ match, NIMS defeated Teresa 35-23.
