KATHMANDU, Nov 11: The Communist Party of Nepal (United) has proposed that the country be delineated into eight provinces while restructuring the country under the federal set up.
The party´s Constituent Assembly (CA) member Chandra Dev Joshi submitted the proposal at a meeting of the CA committee on State Restructuring and Distribution of State Authorities on Wednesday.
The provinces proposed by the party are Koshi, Mithila, Seti-Mahakali, Awadh, Magarat, Tamuwan, Newa and Tamangsaling.
Major political parties including the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML are yet to submit their models of federalism.
Meanwhile, the committee decided to ensure three categories of rights -- equal rights, protected rights and special rights -- to women in the new constitution
